Gladstone’s…redone…about time!

Today was like a summer day…77 and sunny and it’s October. That is why we love living in LA.  My sister had the foresight to make a lunch reservation today at the newly revamped Gladstone’s by the likes of Katsuya and The Bazaar at the SLS hotel.

Goodbye to crunchy peanuts when you walk in the door, and hello to sleek furniture, a better menu but the same killer views. (Although beware, there isn’t any crowd control of who is laying in a bikini down below which may not be the most appetizing of sights.)

There were 5 of us ladies today who sipped Bellini’s and Bloody Mary’s while catching up on the weekend, checking out the biker chicks in their leather chaps and watching the dolphins from our ocean front corner booth with a nice light breeze.

Highlights we loved: Macadamia Rock Shrimp with a Spicy Mango Aioli (no photo because we devoured it in 2 seconds-think Katsuya style).

Sauteed Pesto Shrimp, Heirloom Tomatoes & Goat Cheese Flatbread. Amazing.

Mussels in a Tomato and Saffron broth, a little bit of heat but super tasty.

Fried Fish Sandwich, Tartar Sauce, Arugula, Pickled Red Onion & American Cheese on a Challah Roll

And then for dessert we had the Strawberry Shortcake, again, no photo because it was gone in 5 seconds. A great afternoon, fabulous food, good vibe…perfect and definitely a place we’ll go back again. They even have a little sandbox on the front deck area for the kiddos to play in while you eat/wait for your table.
