Weekend Recap with Melissa…

What a fun weekend Melissa and I had. We started Friday with the top 3, Neiman’s, Barney’s and Saks, but had to mix it up with lunch at Villa Blanca. We started with a marguerita flatbread pizza (devoured it) and then Melissa had the Chopped Salad and I had the Warm Mushroom and Chicken Salad.

Next up for dinner was SBE’s new restaurant Cleo at The Redbury, a boutique hotel on Hollywood and Vine. This place was THE place to be. Absolutely packed…unreal. Wonderful high ceilings,  all young hipsters and good food to boot. We ordered so much but highlights included: Chopped and Beet Salad, Artichoke Flatbread, Mussel Tagine and the famed Brussel Sprouts. Desserts…I would pass. But overall a fab night out!

Saturday was low key until we had dinner at Eveleigh in the former Kenneth Cole space across from Il Sole on the Sunset Strip. It had come recommended by several people so we were excited to try it, and there were 9 of us so no matter what it was bound to be a good time. The decor was awesome: rustic barn doors, tufted comfy amazing chairs, a canvas roof with city light views, communal tables and a vibrant bar scene.  We had the private area when you walked in with a view of everything. It was perfect.  We ordered literally every appetizer off the menu, the butternut squash stood out to all of us.  Entree’s were ok, limited but the whole vibe is awesome. Such a fun night.

The weekend continued on a high note and ended with a perfect Sunday brunch at the Malibu Beach Inn with 75 degree sunny weather and the glistening ocean. I had the Huevos Rancheros and Melissa had the Lobster Salad. It’s such a small intimate atmosphere, only a handful of tables, all with incredible head on ocean views. Such a special place and then a short drive to the Country Mart for fun shopping and always a celeb sighting or two (we saw only Brian Grazer this time).

Come back anytime Melissa!!!!
