Helms Bakery Food Festival

Helms Bakery July 16-17, 2011, free entry and no item costs more than $5!

My friend Allana informed me that from July 16-17th, the historic Helms Bakery District will be transformed into one epic food festival.  Tacos inspired by flavors from around the world, curry, BBQ, hot dogs, ice cream, noodles, and a whole lot more of LA’s awesome curbside eats. The Eat Real Festival celebrates all things tasty, fresh, and handmade with a focus on street food, local wines, handcrafted beers, and traditional food craft – all featuring sustainable, local ingredients.

Their selection of handcrafted beers, local wines, and refreshing agua frescas and iced teas are sure to keep you cool on a hot day. And their Hydration Stations provides free water, so make sure to bring your reusable water bottles! Two days of music, storytelling, food skill demos and performances, and butchery contests will be some of the things you can partake in.

The Festival will be open this Saturday from 10:30 am to 9 pm and Sunday from 10:30 am to 5 pm. Check out the schedule of events here.
