EXPO Phase 1 to open April 28th, ride for FREE!

EXPO Phase I, one of the most eagerly anticipated rail lines, running from downtown to the Westside, will open April 28, 2012. Commuters will be able to ride the new Expo Line for free during the opening weekend and my mother in law is taking Nathan for sure!

The 7.6-mile section of the Expo Line Phase 1 begins downtown at Figueroa and 7th with the current final station at La Cienega and Jefferson. The Culver City station is set to open this summer. Phase II to Santa Monica is scheduled to open in 2016.  Opening-weekend service will run from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. After that, normal operating hours will run from 5 a.m. to 12:30 a.m, with an expected 27,000 daily boardings.
